Contechs, a UK-based automotive design and engineering consultancy, has announced a new high-voltage systems engineering accreditation program set to launch in 2025. The program is designed to train engineers for the electric mobility sector and address the significant skills shortage in the automotive industry, specifically in the area of qualified electrical engineers. It will be available to businesses and individuals ranging from graduate to qualified engineer level.
The 22-week industry-accredited course will utilize extended reality (XR) and hands-on learning, drawing on Contechs’ expertise in EV development and extensive partner network to create a curriculum led by industry leaders. The program will also include a 10-week on-the-job mentoring phase, allowing businesses to provide professional support to qualified systems engineers in the workplace. Assessment facilities will be available at Contechs headquarters in Warwickshire and Essex, as well as the option for remote physical assessment at client offices or bespoke facilities across the UK, with lab vehicles provided for hands-on learning and assessment.
The goal of the new engineering program is to train 600 accredited EE/EV systems engineers in its first year of operation, catering to a range of industries including automotive, aerospace, off-highway, rail, and civil engineering.
