The lineup includes seven trims, with the Pro model offering features such as heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and an extensive suite of active safety tech. The Pro S version adds adaptive front lighting, panoramic moonroof, and more, starting at $51,620. The top S Plus models offer premium audio, heated rear seats, and 21-inch wheels for $58,720. Base-battery versions with the 62-kwh battery pack have not been priced yet.
The 2025 VW ID.4 models come with a CCS port and will have access to Tesla Superchargers with a NACS adapter starting in June or July. The base-battery versions will have “later availability” and all models will receive “additional content” midyear, with specific details and pricing to come later. The 2025 models are expected to be similar to the 2024 models, with enhancements such as a 12.9-inch infotainment system with improved interface and voice assistant technology.
Volkswagen has confirmed that even the base versions of the 2025 ID.4 with the 62-kwh battery pack will come equipped with the 12.9-inch infotainment system. This system includes enhanced processing hardware, shortcuts, and improved climate functions to address the interface issues seen in the initial launch of the ID.4. The new voice assistant is based on ChatGPT technology and offers general-knowledge information without accessing vehicle data.
The 2025 VW ID.4 lineup features permanent-magnet rear motor units that deliver 282 hp in single-motor rear-wheel-drive form or 335 hp in dual-motor all-wheel-drive form. The EPA range ratings have been increased to 263 miles for AWD versions and up to 291 miles for the single-motor version with the larger 82-kwh battery pack. The ID.4 faced challenges in 2024, including delays in delivery due to a recall of models with defective door handles.
The 2025 VW ID.4 is not currently listed as qualifying for the $7,500 EV tax credit, which is still valid at the time of writing. As VW works through the remaining inventory of 2024 models, discounts may be available on the updated 2024 ID.4 models. The full picture of the 2025 model lineup is still pending, with more information expected to be released in the coming months as the models become available at dealerships.
