Deliveries are set to start in April 2025. VinFast has partnered with V-GREEN to provide free charging at V-GREEN-operated VinFast charging stations across Indonesia. This offer is valid for VF 3 owners until March 1, 2028, and for VF e34 and VF 5 owners until December 31, 2027. The company aims to expand its charging infrastructure to 30,000 VinFast charging portals nationwide by the end of 2025.
The VF 3 is designed for urban commuting, with dimensions of 3,190 x 1,679 x 1,652 mm. It features 16-inch alloy wheels, 175 mm of ground clearance, and multiple color options. The vehicle offers a claimed range of 215 km on a single charge, with fast-charging capabilities allowing it to go from 10% to 70% in 36 minutes. Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. VinFast provides a warranty of up to 7 years or 160,000 km for the vehicle and an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery. Test drives of the VF 3 were available at IIMS 2025 starting February 15.
VinFast has made significant strides in the EV market, establishing an assembly plant in Indonesia, launching various models, and expanding its sales and service network. The company is actively contributing to Indonesia’s green transition through its sales policies and partnerships with companies like Xanh SM and V-GREEN. Despite being the most affordable mini-EV available, sales of the VF 3 in the Philippines have not met expectations. VinFast is also making inroads in the Indian market, where it unveiled electric vehicles like the VF 6 and VF 7 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. In India, the company plans to begin sales of these models in the first half of 2025 and is setting up a dealer network across major cities.
The VF 6 and VF 7 models for the Indian market feature unique design philosophies aimed at balancing fun and sophistication, technology and human-centric design. VinFast’s presence at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 showcased a range of EV models, including SUVs, scooters, bikes, and a pickup truck concept. The company also inaugurated an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with plans to support EV adoption in India and other markets. Partnering with the state government, VinFast is working on developing charging infrastructure in India to cater to the growing EV market across different vehicle segments.
VinFast’s expansion into the Indian market aligns with its global growth strategy, leveraging India’s strong automotive component sector for high vehicle localization and potential sourcing of EV parts. The company’s efforts in India, including developing right-hand drive versions of its vehicles, signify its commitment to meeting the specific needs of diverse markets. VinFast aims to capitalize on India’s robust EV market and export potential through its manufacturing plant near Thoothukudi Port. The company’s omni-channel sales approach and focus on innovative design philosophies set it apart in the competitive EV landscape.
