Tesla has partnered with a chain of home goods and appliance stores in Australia to sell and install its energy products. This marks the first time that Tesla’s Energy products are being sold through a third-party retailer in the country. The products available at select Bunnings Warehouse locations include the Powerwall 3, Wall Connector, and Mobile Connector.
The Mobile Connector is priced at $550 AUD and the Wall Connector is priced at $800 AUD on the Bunnings Warehouse website. Installation services for the products are also offered at select locations. Customers who wish to purchase the Powerwall 3 must request a quote from Tesla’s website, with prices ranging from $11,900 AUD for one Powerwall to $35,700 AUD for three. The gateway is estimated to cost $1,700 AUD.
Installation services for the charging equipment are currently available at select locations in Victoria and New South Wales, with plans to expand to other Australian states in the near future. The Powerwall 3, which was recently launched in Western Australia, boasts enhancements such as a built-in solar inverter and the ability to handle peak power levels of roughly 30kW.
In addition to the product launch, Tesla has introduced a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program in certain regions of Australia.
