Hyundai Electric Vehicles Now Compatible with Tesla Supercharger Network
Hyundai announced that its electric vehicles now have access to the Tesla Supercharger network, making charging easier for owners in the U.S. Owners of the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover, the first Hyundai EV with a Tesla-style charging port, have been able to use Superchargers. Now, older Hyundai EV models with the Combined Charging System (CCS) port can also utilize Tesla Supercharging stations by using an adapter.
Eligibility for Free Adapters
Drivers of the Kona Electric, Ioniq 6, pre-2025 Ioniq 5, Ioniq 5 N, and original Ioniq hatchback models can now plug into Superchargers after receiving their NACS-to-CCS adapter. Customers who purchased or leased their CCS-equipped electric models on or before January 31 are eligible to receive the adapter for free. Hyundai will send out emails with instructions on how to redeem the free adapter starting in April. NACS adapters will also be available for purchase at a later date.
