Hyundai is expanding its offer of free home chargers or public-charging credits to buyers of the 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 lineups. This perk was previously available to owners of the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N performance variant and then later the entire 2025 Ioniq 5 model line. Now, Hyundai has confirmed that this offer is also available to owners of 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models. Customers can choose between a free ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger or a $400 public-charging credit for use at ChargePoint’s stations.
The ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 home charger is the same unit that Hyundai began offering to other EV customers in 2023. Both the charger and installation services are provided through Hyundai’s Hyundai Home service, which offers home-charging possibilities for EV owners, as well as solar and energy storage options. As with the previous offer for Ioniq 5 N customers, Hyundai covers hardwired installation, but not other installation costs, taxes, or fees. Customers must choose the free home charger or charging credit within 60 days of purchasing or leasing a new 2025 Ioniq 5, and complete hardwired installation within 120 days. The public-charging credit is valid for two years.
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 features some notable updates, including larger battery packs that increase estimated range to 318 miles with the larger pack. Charging for all models except the 5 N is now done with a Tesla-style NACS connector. A new XRT grade brings off-road features, and all versions feature small styling changes. Hyundai is also shifting most Ioniq 5 production to its Georgia “Metaplant,” with the 5 N version being an exception.
Hyundai’s offer of free home chargers or public-charging credits now extends to 2025 Ioniq 6 and 2024 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models purchased or leased after March 1. The Ioniq 5 N is designed to meet the expectations of enthusiast EVs with genuine track capability and excellent handling prowess. The 2025 Ioniq 5 receives a range of updates and improvements, including larger battery packs for increased range, new charging connectors, off-road features in the XRT grade, and small styling changes.
In summary, Hyundai continues to expand its offer of free home chargers or public-charging credits to a wider range of customers within the 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 lineups. This offer aims to make electric vehicle ownership more convenient and accessible for buyers, providing them with options for home charging or public-charging credits. The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models receive various updates and improvements to enhance driving range, charging capabilities, and overall performance, catering to both enthusiasts and everyday drivers.
