Karma Automotive, the automaker that emerged from the bankruptcy of Fisker Automotive, is set to unveil a new concept vehicle at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in August. The concept, called the GT UV Design Study, is described as a grand touring utility vehicle with four seats and multi-terrain capability. While the actual name of the concept has not been revealed, teaser photos suggest that it may be an SUV with a sleek design. The debut of the concept is scheduled for August 16 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, a prestigious event during Monterey Car Week.
In addition to the GT UV Design Study, Karma will also showcase the Kaveya sports car concept, which was first unveiled in 2023. The upcoming version of the Kaveya will feature the interior of the production model that is expected to go on sale in 2026. It will offer up to 1,000 hp and a starting price of around $300,000. The Gyesera sport sedan, which was revealed earlier this year, is also expected to be on display. The Gyesera will offer 120 kwh of battery capacity, a maximum of 590 hp, and a starting price of around $175,000.
Karma Automotive’s current model, the Revero, is a series plug-in hybrid that is a heavily updated version of the Fisker Karma. However, the company’s future models will all be fully electric vehicles. Karma initially planned to offer luxury vehicles as well as commercial vehicles, but now it intends to focus exclusively on luxury vehicles with high levels of personalization. The goal is to position Karma as an American ultra-luxury brand, similar to Duesenberg from over a century ago. Production of the new Karma models will take place at the company’s plant in Moreno Valley, California, where the Revero is currently built.
