Mitsubishi Confirms Launch of New EV in 2026
Mitsubishi has confirmed that it will be launching a new electric vehicle in 2026. The model is expected to be twinned with the electric crossover that Nissan plans to introduce as a replacement for the Leaf. Built on the same platform as the Nissan Ariya and two Renault EVs, the new Mitsubishi EV will be a coupe crossover with a sloping roof.
Mitsubishi’s Electric Crossover in Development
According to a report from Automotive News, Mitsubishi is working on its version of the electric crossover that will replace the Nissan Leaf. The new Mitsubishi EV will be built on the AmpR Medium platform, previously known as CMF-EV, which is shared with the Nissan Ariya and Renault Megane and Scenic E-Tech models. The Nissan model, expected to be revealed first, will be followed by the Mitsubishi EV in 2026.
Mitsubishi’s EV Sales Goals and Partnerships
Mitsubishi has set ambitious goals for electric and electrified vehicle sales, with a target of 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
