Tesla recently updated the Cybertruck’s official order page, indicating that the company is currently prioritizing the production and delivery of Foundation Series units. This update resulted in the removal of the base Cybertruck Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) from the all-electric pickup truck’s order page.
Customers can now choose between the Foundation Series Cybertruck All Wheel Drive (AWD) for $99,990 or the tri-motor Foundation Series Cyberbeast for $119,990. Delivery estimates for the Foundation Series Cybertruck AWD are projected for August to September 2024, while orders for the Foundation Series Cyberbeast are expected to be delivered between October and December 2024.
Prior to this update, the Cybertruck was available in three variants: RWD for $60,990, AWD for $79,990, and Cyberbeast for $99,990. The Cybertruck AWD and Cyberbeast had a delivery target of 2025, while the base Cybertruck RWD was listed as “available in 2025.”
The absence of the Cybertruck RWD variant on the current order page may suggest that Tesla is phasing out the cheapest version of the all-electric pickup truck. However, this update specifically pertains to the Foundation Series, and since the Foundation Series did not include a RWD variant, it is not surprising that it is no longer available.
The Cybertruck Foundation Series is a limited edition offering available only during the vehicle’s first year of production. Priced at a $20,000 premium over the non-Foundation Series Cybertruck AWD and Cyberbeast, the package includes exclusive features such as laser-etched badges, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Lifetime Premium Connectivity, PowerShare Mobile Connector, $2,500 Tesla Shop Credit, an Off-Road light Bar, and Premium Accessories.
Tesla is committed to the production and delivery of the Cybertruck Foundation Series, with estimated delivery dates provided for customers who prefer the premium offerings. The current focus on the Foundation Series emphasizes Tesla’s dedication to providing unique and limited-run models to its customers, showcasing the company’s innovative approach to electric vehicle design and production.
