Tesla recently made a move to revamp its vinyl wrap service, just months after quietly discontinuing its previous offerings. In September, the company eliminated 80 percent of its in-house wrap options for the Cybertruck, leading to a limitation in available colors for the vehicle. However, on December 13, Tesla launched a new vinyl wrap service for the Cybertruck, Model 3, and Model Y, pricing the service between $4,000 and $4,500.
The new vinyl wraps are available in a variety of colors, textures, and patterns, made from polyvinyl chloride for durability, versatility, and removability. Customers can choose between matte, satin, or gloss finishes for their vehicles. While there is no dropdown menu to select a color on the website, Tesla is able to supply virtually any color that the customer desires. The website showcases various screenshots of each vehicle in a range of colors to give customers an idea of the possibilities.
Previously, Tesla has only offered a limited selection of colors with its paint, but has expanded to offer wraps as well. The launch of the wrap service coincided with the increased availability of the Cybertruck, which initially was only offered in its stainless steel finish. Many owners requested customization options, prompting Tesla to introduce the wrap service. However, the service is only available at select locations, including Tesla Service Centers in California and Washington, as well as on Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built during model year 2023 and older.
Tesla is pricing the Cybertruck wraps at $4,500, while the Model 3 and Model Y wraps are priced at $4,000.
