Tesla has released an update to its Autopark feature as part of the FSD (Supervised) V12.3.6 update. This new update allows drivers to select between highlighted parking spaces in the infotainment system. Some Tesla owners with ultrasonic sensors have also reported receiving the option to toggle between standard or Tesla Vision-based park assist. The update was initially observed being rolled out to company employees, but regular customers soon reported receiving it as well.
One Tesla owner shared a screenshot on Twitter showing the Vision Base Park Assist feature in FSD 12.3.6 on their 2022 Model X with ultrasonic sensors. Veteran FSD user Chuck Cook also shared release notes for software update 2024.3.25, which includes the FSD (Supervised) V12.3.6 update and the Autopark update. Some owners of vehicles with ultrasonic sensors reported that their cars now have the option to toggle between using standard park assist or park assist through Tesla Vision.
The release notes for Tesla’s new Autopark update state that when driving at low speeds, the display will highlight potential parking spaces with a circular P symbol. Drivers can choose any highlighted space and start parking by stopping the vehicle, pressing Start, and releasing the steering wheel to allow it to move freely. Users are reminded to continue paying attention and be ready to take immediate action, including canceling Autopark.
A demonstration of Tesla’s new Autopark update shows that the feature has a new user interface that makes it easier to use. However, it does not appear to be avoiding traffic when engaged, possibly due to the feature not being on V12 yet. This area for improvement is expected to be addressed by Tesla in a future Autopark update. Users are encouraged to contact Tesla with any news tips by sending a message to simon@teslarati.com.
