Genesis has unveiled an updated version of its Electrified GV70 crossover with a larger battery pack, a Tesla NACS charge port, and a refreshed front-end design. The new model is part of a refresh for the GV70 lineup, which is Genesis’ top-selling model line. The Electrified GV70 will have a bigger battery pack, providing more range, although specific numbers have not been released yet. The 2025 Electrified GV70 models had an EPA-rated range of 236 miles, and the upgrade to an 84-kwh battery pack is expected to push the range well past the 250-mile mark.
At about 186 inches long, the Electrified GV70 doesn’t have direct rivals in terms of size, but it overlaps with models such as the Cadillac Lyriq, Acura ZDX, and BMW iX. The shift to a Tesla NACS port means the 2026 GV70 Electrified will have native support at Tesla Supercharger stations without the need for an adapter. This will significantly expand the DC fast-charging network available to Genesis EV drivers. With the larger battery, charging times from 10-80% are expected to increase slightly from the optimal 18 minutes when using a CCS adapter.
The exterior design of the 2026 Genesis GV70 features new multi-lens array (MLA) headlights and subtle changes to the NACS port texture. The grille design has been updated for gasoline versions, while the skid plate and air intake grilles have been modified for a more chiseled look. Inside, the cabin follows a “Beauty of White Space” design principle with a new dash design centered around a 27-inch OLED screen. Ambient lighting and lighted trim surfaces enhance the upscale mood, and there are four nappa leather color options to choose from.
The 2025 model’s dual-motor propulsion system delivered 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, with a boost mode that provided 483 hp in short bursts. The 2026 model keeps these power numbers, but changes the location of the Boost mode button on the steering wheel. Dynamic improvements include a system that controls front and rear damping forces when accelerating or decelerating, using forward-facing cameras to read the road surface. A new Terrain Mode offers specialized modes for sun, mud, and sand driving conditions.
Genesis has made updates to the cabin interface and display of the GV70, adding hands-on detection for the steering wheel, improved lane assist, and an updated parking assist feature that now includes diagonal parking. The 2026 Electrified GV70 models will be dual-sourced from Genesis’ Alabama U.S. plant and one in South Korea. The new model is expected to arrive in the first half of 2025, building on the success of the 2025 Electrified GV70 with additional features and improvements in performance and technology.
